Foundations
of Faith.

You do not have to understand everything before you begin following Jesus. These six foundations will help you know who He is, understand what He has done for you, and take your next steps of faith.

Christianity is not merely learning information about God. It is receiving new life through Jesus Christ and learning to walk with Him every day.

01

The Bible

God has given us His Word so we can know Him, recognize truth, and learn how to live.

The Bible is more than an inspirational book. It is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. Through its pages, God reveals His character, His plan of redemption, and His purpose for our lives. Scripture points us to Jesus and gives us a trustworthy foundation for what we believe and how we live.

2 Timothy 3:16–17 · 2 Peter 1:20–21 · Psalm 119:105 · John 17:17

Your next step

Begin with the Gospel of John. Read a small portion each day and ask: What does this show me about Jesus? What truth should I believe? What step should I take?

02

The One True God

There is one God who eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Christians do not worship three gods. We worship one eternal God revealed in three distinct Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Father is God, Jesus Christ the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. Together they work in perfect unity in creation, redemption, and our daily relationship with God.

Deuteronomy 6:4 · Matthew 3:16–17 · Matthew 28:19 · 2 Corinthians 13:14

Your next step

You can know God personally. Speak to the Father in prayer, come to Him through Jesus Christ, and welcome the Holy Spirit to lead you into truth.

03

Jesus Christ

Jesus is fully God and fully man—the Savior, risen Lord, and King.

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who came to earth in human flesh. He lived without sin, revealed the Father, healed the sick, delivered the oppressed, and proclaimed the Kingdom of God. He died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, ascended to Heaven, and is coming again. Salvation is found in Him alone.

John 1:1–14 · Colossians 1:15–20 · 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 · Acts 4:12

Your next step

Christian faith begins by answering Jesus’ question: “Who do you say that I am?” Choose to know Him not only as a teacher, but as your Savior and Lord.

04

Salvation & Repentance

Salvation is God’s gift, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

Sin separates every person from God, and we cannot rescue ourselves through good works or religious effort. Jesus took our sin upon Himself and made forgiveness and new life available through His death and resurrection. Repentance means turning from sin and turning toward God. When we trust Jesus and confess Him as Lord, we are forgiven, born again, and brought into God’s family.

John 3:3–17 · Acts 2:38 · Romans 10:9–10 · Ephesians 2:8–9

Your next step

Come to Jesus honestly. Admit your need, turn from sin, believe that He died and rose for you, and surrender your life to His leadership.

05

Faith & Following Jesus

Faith is trusting God enough to build your life upon His Word.

Faith is more than agreeing that God exists. It is placing our confidence in His character, His promises, and the finished work of Jesus. Living faith produces obedience, love, perseverance, and spiritual growth. We learn to follow Jesus through Scripture, prayer, worship, fellowship, serving, and the daily help of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 10:17 · Hebrews 11:1, 6 · James 2:17 · Galatians 5:6

Your next step

Take the next faithful step God is showing you. Stay connected to His Word, pray daily, and grow alongside other believers in a local church.

06

Water Baptism & the Holy Spirit

Jesus calls us to identify with Him publicly and empowers us to live as His witnesses.

Water baptism by immersion is a public declaration that we have died to the old life and have been raised to new life with Christ. We also believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is available to every believer, empowering us for holy living, bold witness, spiritual service, and participation in the supernatural ministry of Jesus. We believe speaking in other tongues, as the Spirit gives utterance, is the initial physical evidence of this experience.

Matthew 28:19 · Romans 6:3–4 · Acts 1:4–8 · Acts 2:1–4

Your next step

If you have received Jesus, ask about water baptism. Pray for the Holy Spirit to fill and empower you, and allow trusted church leaders to stand with you in faith.

A simple prayer

Begin with Jesus.

“Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. Forgive me, make me new, and lead my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me follow You. Amen.”

A prayer is not a formula. Salvation rests in Jesus Christ. Call upon Him sincerely, trust what He has done, and begin walking with Him.

You do not walk alone
